About

The person behind Jackson Dark

I'm Jan Nørgaard — an independent Data & Analytics consultant based in Denmark with over three decades of hands-on experience across IT, business development, and large-scale organisational change.

My technical depth didn't come from a lab — it came from working directly on business development and value chain analysis in large organisations, where the demand for fact-based decisions over gut feeling pushed me deeper and deeper into data. That journey is what shaped a profile that is equally comfortable in a boardroom conversation and a data model.

Today I combine that business context with full stack Data & Analytics capability — designing and building platforms that give organisations real insight, operational power, and the confidence to make decisions based on evidence rather than instinct.

When shit hits the fan

 

Realism usually strikes very late in IT projects. The reason is simple – very few people are able to overview the complexity IT projects often has. Good project management is just not enough, because when different technologies interacts, complexity appears. Often really skilled tech people are joining projects, but they are normally limited to be skilled in a narrow area. They focus on “their own part”, and when problems occur, it can be very hard to solve, because the claim is, that “my part” works as expected. Costumers are often in a situation, where problems actually not even get solved.

I am the problem solver.

With 3 decades behind me working with a very wide range of technologies within IT, I am able to narrow down the real problems  with solutions not working. I would of course prefer to help solving them, before they appear, but I also find a great challenge in cracking the nut that can’t be cracked.
